National Institute of Technology & Management (Recognized by AICTE, Govt. of India & Affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow)
The Department of Applied Sciences has started with a mission to impart knowledge of practical applications of fundamentals of mathematical and cutting edge of basic sciences. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members having tremendous dedication and result oriented approach for learning and teaching through a team spirit. At the moment 12 faculty members are associated with the department in which three are Professors. All the faculty members are involved in various field of research and their applications for the benefit of students. They have published many research papers in the reputed national & international journals. They involve themselves to be present in the many conferences, seminars, workshops & symposiums at national level time to time to update their knowledge.
Applied Sciences forms a bridge which connects the concepts of pure basic sciences i.e. physics, chemistry and mathematics with engineering practices. The department is committed to providing human values along with the quality education and professional standards to the vibrant student community.
We educate students with individual attention and provide world class quality education and aim at character building as well. The department is progressing exponentially with a vision for developing efficient and technically sound students to outperform in their careers and professions.
Right from its inception the department has striven to set high standards of teaching. The department has succeeded in this endeavour over the years. The department handles core subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Physics is the branch of science that deals with inanimate world and its natural phenomena.
The department has been established with the mission of imparting quality education in the field of Physics at Undergraduate level. The main objective of the department is in "The pursuit of academic excellence and better understanding of the concepts both in theory and practical from fundamental level to its applications".
Mathematics as conceived by Aristotle is "the science of quantity". The three leading types of mathematics are called logicist, intuitionist and formalist, each reflecting a different philosophical school of thought.
Mathematics is indispensable for the engineering community. The department provides a strong foundation of Mathematical basics which are building blocks of all subjects of engineering fields. The department provides the best quality education in mathematical fundamentals to all the students of the institute.
This department strives to maintain high standards of teaching Applied Mathematics in various branches of engineering and to prepare students for leading roles in education, science, business, industry, and other careers. The faculty gives utmost care to bridge the curriculum and the modern needs. The faculty also collaborates with other researchers in solving engineering and scientific problems to produce well trained professionals with high standards of academic excellence, innovative research capabilities, ethical conduct and integrity.
Chemistry is the scientific study of interaction of chemical substances. Chemistry is often called "the central science" because it connects the other natural sciences such as biology, astronomy, material science and geology
This department has been teaching Engineering Chemistry for all the branches of engineering at the first year level and elective subjects in higher semester to provide basic chemistry knowledge. The department has been training the students in theory and laboratory practices for a thorough understanding of the subject in order to produce engineering graduates with knowledge of finer aspects of chemistry to understand the latest technologies.
