The Chemical Engineering Department is started in 2009 and having well qualified faculty and activities in various directions in BBDNITM, Lucknow. The reputation of being among the finest in the Uttar Pradesh and country and is dedicated towards the advancement of technology and science.
The heart of chemical engineering at BBDNITM is excellence in undergraduate education. Our central goal is teaching students how to conduct innovative research and communicate the results. BBDNITM students enjoy personal experiences in scholarship and independent inquiry, in which they play an active role in formulating the research to be undertaken, implementing the work, and carrying it to completion. The graduate students are in high demand in both industry and academia.
The department combines strengths in the traditional as well as the modern. The Department of Chemical Engineering offer Bachelor of Technology programmers in the area of Chemical Engineering. Every year about 60 students are admitted for this programme.
The B.Tech program in chemical engineering begins with a foundation in mathematics, chemistry, and physics. These fundamentals are used to develop the analytical tools of chemical engineering - fluid mechanics, chemical thermodynamics, and chemical kinetics - in the sophomore and junior years. The units of chemical processes - such as chemical reactors, bio-reactors, distillation columns, and heat exchangers - are analyzed with these tools, beginning in the junior year. In the senior year you design chemical processes by integrating process units with regard to economics, safety, and environmental impact. This program will prepare you for professional practice in traditional areas of chemical engineering - chemicals, polymers, petroleum, utilities, pharmaceuticals, computers and information technology - as well as emerging areas of biotechnology and electronic materials.
Chemical engineering is the application of physical and chemical principles to the creation of useful equipments. Chemical engineers use principles such as heat, chemistry, force, and the conservation of mass and energy to analyze static and dynamic physical systems, etc...
